We are Hiring: Fencing Coach (m/f/d) at the National Fencing Training Centre (Foil & Épée)

The Austrian Fencing Federation (ÖFV) is seeking a committed and qualified fencing coach to join our performance centre at the National Training Centre Südstadt (near Vienna). The successful candidate will support the development and long-term progression of our talented young athletes.

The position is available as soon as possible (expected starting date: 1 November 2026).

Your Responsibilities:

Core training duties: Delivering high-quality individual lessons as well as structured group training sessions for young athletes in the weapons of foil and épée.
Support at the training centre: Working as an assistant coach alongside the two existing centre coaches, actively contributing to ongoing training programmes and youth competition preparation.
Training camps: Planning, organising and delivering training camps from a sporting and coaching perspective.
Data management: Systematic collection, recording and documentation of training data for all fencers training at the centre.

Your Profile & Requirements:

Qualification: Coaching qualification equivalent to the Austrian Instruktor certification or at least a comparable B-level coaching licence (e.g. from Germany).
Specialisation: Proven experience in youth development and high-performance training in the weapons of foil and épée.
Language skills: Very good German skills, both written and spoken, are preferred. However, at least good and confident communication skills in English are required.
Commitment: Willingness to work on occasional public holidays and weekends, with full time compensation provided.

We Offer:

An exciting full-time position in a professional, performance-oriented environment at the National Training Centre Südstadt.
As this is a publicly funded position, the employment contract is initially limited until 31 December 2028, with the option and objective of extending the employment relationship.
Salary based on the standard coaching salary structures in Austria. The gross monthly salary is EUR 3,300 (paid 14 times per year).
A structured working environment with full compensation for weekend and public holiday duties.
